The relevance tree analysis as a creativity technique first accepts a problem as an existing condition, examines it for a multitude of criteria and then breaks it down into individual statements. This is done until the core of the problem becomes clear.

The advantage of the disassembly into individual parts is that complex problems become manageable. In the process of decomposition, however, it is important that connections are not lost and that the selection of characteristics is not made subjectively.

A further advantage of the relevance tree analysis is that it can be used as a technique at any time, i.e. also in a meeting, spontaneously and without previous knowledge.
