A further development of the mental provocation according to Edward de Bono is the so-called stepping stone method. In order to avoid (un)consciously selecting only those stimulus statements that lead you in the mental direction you have already taken, so-called stepping stones are set, with the help of which you can check whether you can really break away from the thoughts you have already made.
Here you can use different variants:
– the reverse provocation
– the exaggeration provocation
– the distortion provocation
– the wish image provocation
According to Edward de Bono, who developed this method, it is important here to check each stepping stone to see if it really leads in a different direction.
