Description

Role-playing games are very suitable for prototyping in innovation projects and the simulation of services and business models. At least one participant from a team takes on the role of a previously agreed character and plays a situation from the developed application of the service or business model on the basis of the corresponding characteristics.

The goal of this method is that the other team members or observers experience a realistic perception of the respective situation. The advantages of role-playing are that you can get a good basis for evaluation or gain insights for improvement with a relatively manageable amount of effort - without having to go to the customer and visit real locations.

Especially in Design Thinking this method is often used and sometimes even small scripts are written for the scenes. This allows you to describe and test various possible conversation situations in advance. Of course, you can also use the improvisation variant, here usually new prototypes of the prototype are created and it is a little more fun.
