The Research Participant Map helps us to get an overview of the groups of people to be studied in the project, in terms of their activities and roles, to see who are the right focus groups for the project.

A Research Participant Map begins by considering which people or groups of people we want to study and understand in detail. From these considerations, we derive two goal-directed criteria, which we then use to map the groups of people in a 2×2 matrix.

From this map we derive what our target understanding focus is and which colleagues would be optimal to perform the understanding to it.
